Almost two weeks ago, I introduced the “Inspired” block, which is a free-to-download pattern that you can access here. For the background story behind this block, you can check out this earlier post.
As I was auditioning fabrics to use for the samples, I ran into a fat eighth bundle I got a while back. I remember getting the fabric online during a sale based on the colors in the collection and without knowing much else about it. The bundle was wrapped in plastic, so I never got to feel the fabric until I decided that this collection might be a good match to the Inspired block.
When I finally got the chance to actually feel the fabric, I was pleasantly surprised by the textured prints. The fabric designs are overprinted on Kona solids, so there is an extra layer of texture that makes the fabric even more interesting. The collection is called Blueberry Park by Karen Lewis for Robert Kaufman.
By the time I was finished making a couple of the Inspired block samples, I was already in love with both the fabric and the pattern (if I may say so myself)! Unfortunately, I ran out of fabric quite fast, so now I’m waiting for my next batch of the Blueberry Park collection (and different prints than the ones included in my fat eighth bundle) to arrive.
I had shared some ideas about the quilt layout in my previous post, but I think I have an even better idea. Stay tuned! Until then, enjoy the sight of these gorgeous fabrics and pattern:
